vintage flowers...

We've been working again with a vintage children's book that we picked up at a market in very bad condition. With pages missing and the spine falling to pieces, we decided to give part of it a second life as three dimensional art.  We have purposely taken this photo from a rather strange angle to show you the layered effect. We covered buttons with textured barkcloth  to create the flower centres.  As we love both paper and fabric, it is especially satisfying when we get to combine both mediums in our designs.

Hello and thanks Clare for stopping by my blog! I love this paper-fabric combo but especailly love the idea of upscycling this book that might have otherwise ended up in the trash. Love the b&w buttons as well.
