reflecting...

I felt like a fresh look in my dining room earlier this week so decided to use an old mirror for a table runner. It's a great way to reflect light around the room and splatters, spills and finger marks are a breeze to clean up (it certainly beats washing fabric runners or tablecloths!) During the day I have had extra value from a beautiful bunch of peonies with their perfect pink petals reflected in the mirror, but I particularly love the reflections the mirror casts in the evening with the flickering of a few tea-light candles. Simple, yet so effective.

Beautiful idea! When a petal falls it will be beautiful then too.
